Gemminger Hof (Bad Wimpfen)
The Gemminger Hof in Bad Wimpfen in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg is a historic town courtyard belonging to the Barons of Gemmingen .
description
The property is located in the Wimpfen castle district , i.e. within the former area of the Palatinate Wimpfen and extends over the parcels 346, 347, 356 and 359. The stately homestead is one of the largest properties within the castle district. The walled complex consists of three buildings and open spaces and as a whole is a cultural monument according to § 28 DSchG. The courtyard wall facing the castle district has representative gate pillars with coats of arms.
The main building is a two-storey half-timbered house with a solid plastered ground floor and a half-timbered structure under a half-hipped roof from the second half of the 18th century. The building was rebuilt in 1856 and at the beginning of the 20th century. A life-size knight figure stands on a pedestal in the southwest corner facing the main street. Parts of the wall around the Palatinate around 1200 were incorporated into the southern eaves wall.
A half-timbered barn with a high solid base from the 18th century under a half-hipped roof, the upper floor of which was expanded for residential purposes in the late 20th century, is parallel to the main building. To the east there is a one-storey stable house, also from the 18th century, which was later extended and has a gable roof.
In addition to the buildings, the property includes a walled vegetable garden (parcel 356) and former vineyards (parcel 346 and 347) facing the main road.
