"GenPORT - An internet portal for sharing knowledge and inspiring collaborative action on gender and science" is a project funded by the European Commission in the 7th Research Framework Program .

description

As part of the project, the genderportal.eu internet portal will be created from May 2013 to April 2017 . Genderportal.eu is a scientific service offering which, in addition to a repository for resources on equality work and gender in science, is also intended to create a globally networked online community for researchers and practitioners of equality work in science, technology and innovation. It is intended to simplify the exchange of experiences among policy makers, scientists and equality actors and to organize research results, measures and strategic information on equality in science and make them available in a bundled manner. In addition, genderportal.eu contains scientific resources, practice-oriented material on gender equality work, database access, blog entries and links to gender-relevant websites and events. By uploading new resources and writing blog entries, users have the opportunity to help shape the content of the portal and to exchange ideas internationally in English and in national-language discussion groups. The GenPORT consortium wants to create a flexible and user-based service for scientists and actors in gender equality that extends beyond national borders.

On April 21, 2016, the Internet portal genderportal.eu of the GenPORT project was officially presented and opened by its consortium in the European Parliament in Brussels . The portal has now emerged from its first test phase and is fully available to specialists and scientists. Users can register on genderportal.eu, upload resources and network regionally and worldwide with actors and scientists involved in gender equality policy.
