Gene Expression Omnibus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) is an online biochemistry database owned by the National Center for Biotechnology Information that lists data from gene expression analyzes.

The Gene Expression Omnibus lists, among other things, raw data from RNA-Seq and microarrays that were generated in high-throughput processes . The raw data from microarrays fulfill the MIAME Criteria (from English minimum information about a microarray experiment ). These GEO data are freely accessible and functionally connoted and are formatted as GeoDatasetRecords (GDS format) by GEO employees . Profiles of individual genes can be extracted from this.
