The General National Maritime Transport Company (GNMTC; Arabic الشركة الوطنية العامة للنقل البحري, DMG aš-šarika al-waṭaniyya al-ʿāmma li-n-naql al-baḥrī ) is Libya's state-owned shipping company .

GNMTC was founded in 1975 and has its headquarters in Tripoli and branches in Malta and Hong Kong .

The fleet mainly includes crude oil, liquid gas and chemical tankers of various sizes up to Suezmax . A Fantasia-class cruise ship, which was commissioned as Phenicia in 2010 and allegedly intended to incorporate an aquarium for six sharks, was initially not completed due to the Libyan civil war that broke out in 2011 and the fall of the government of Muammar al-Gaddafi, and ended in 2012 sold to MSC Cruises for financial reasons , which it commissioned as MSC Preziosa in March 2013 .
