General Diocese of Hanover

The General Diocese of Hanover was an ecclesiastical supervisory district in the area of ​​today's Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Hanover .

It was created in 1903 through the merger of the previous General Diocese of Calenberg with the General Superintendentur Lüneburg-Celle . When the regional church administration was reorganized under Regional Bishop August Marahrens in 1936, the Calenberg district was formed as a successor institution .
