Karl Stalmann

Karl Stalmann (full name Karl Gerhard Wilhelm Stalmann ; born October 22, 1877 in Meensen ; † June or July 2, 1953 in Hanover ) was a German Lutheran clergyman, general superintendent and member of the regional church office of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover .

Life

family

Karl Stalmann, born in Meensen in 1877, was the son of pastor Robert Stalmann (1848–1922), who worked there from 1876 to 1880, and Margarete, (1856–1897), one of the three daughters of the then superintendent and later Loccum Abbot Gerhard Uhlhorn . Also born in Meensen in 1878 was Gerhard Stalmann , who later became a chemist and factory director, and in 1880 Stalmann's brother Albrecht Stalmann , who later became President of the Hanover Monastery Chamber .

Career

During his studies he became a member of the "Student Choir of Georgia Augusta" (today StMV Blue Singers ). After studying Protestant theology, Stalmann was ordained on November 10, 1906 and was initially a parish collaborator in Hanover-Hainholz and Hamburg-Wilstorf. In 1910 he became pastor at the Johanniskirche in Hamburg-Harburg, 1921 superintendent in Fallersleben , 1926 superintendent in Hannover-Limmer . From 1930 he was also city ​​superintendent of Hanover. On May 1, 1933, he joined the State Church Office as the last General Superintendent of the General Diocese of Hanover , where he was the Oberlandeskirchenrat and spiritual representative of the President. Most recently he was also a member of the Church Senate . He retired on May 1, 1953.
