General Military Treasury

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the German Reich , the Generalmilitary Fund was the fund that had to make the large payments for the German army .

The Generalmilitarykasse existed under the name Feldkriegskasse or Generalkriegskasse since 1678 and was originally housed in the warehouse at Klosterstrasse 76 in Berlin . She was directly subordinate to the War Ministry . She was headed by a war paymaster . Around 1880, the military treasury had the military armory, which was probably built there in 1843, demolished on its property at Königgrätzer Strasse 122 (today Stresemannstrasse ) and a new building for the general military treasury was built by August Busse by 1883 . The new building also housed several other military treasuries and apartments for janitors and clerks.
