Genovaitė Sabaliauskaitė
Genovaitė Sabaliauskaitė (born April 2, 1923 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian ballet artist and choreographer .
Life
From 1934 to 1938 Genovaitė Sabaliauskaitė learned at the ballet studio of Valstybės teatras and from 1938 danced as a ballet artist. In 1942 she trained in the studio of Agrippina Jakowlewna Waganowa in Leningrad and with the Russian prima ballerina Galina Ulanowa . From 1944 to 1965 Sabaliauskaitė was the main soloist and from 1965 to 1968 the chief ballet master at Nacionalinis operos ir baleto teatras . From 1970 to 1971 she worked at the National Theater Chile in Santiago and from 1952 taught at the Čiurlionis Art School in Vilnius . She has lived in Germany since 1978.
