Gentil de Lavallade is the name of a noble family from the county of Périgord , which since 1890 has also belonged to the German nobility as "von Gentil de Lavallade".

history

The lineage of the family begins at the end of the 15th century with Jehan Gentils († 1537), governor ( Viguer ) of St. Yrieix in the province of Limousin .

In December 1515 his grandson, Hélie Gentils, Seigneur de la Jonchapt, du Mas received the French title of nobility in Lyon . The Prussian recognition of the right to use the name "von Gentil de Lavallade" was granted to the royal Prussian major Gottfried Karl Wilhelm Feodor Gentil von Lavallade through a certificate from the royal heraldry of March 23, 1890. The entry in the Saxon nobility book was made on November 12, 1903.

coat of arms

The coat of arms from 1515 shows a golden rafter in blue, accompanied by three (2: 1) golden Katharinenwheels , in front of the whole thing a raised, shiny sword. On the crowned helmet with blue and gold covers three (gold, blue, gold) ostrich feathers, in front of the middle one an erect, bare sword.
