Geoffroy Atkinson

Geoffroy Atkinson (born October 21, 1892 in Brooklyn , † 1960 ) was an American Romanist .

Life

Atkinson studied at Amherst College , did military service and received his doctorate from Columbia University in 1920 with the work The extraordinary voyage in French literature before 1700 (New York 1920, 1966). From 1920 to 1957 he taught French at Amherst College, of which he became dean in 1929.
