Georg Ager (born September 26, 1958 in Hopfgarten im Brixental ) is a former Austrian ski racer . The downhill specialist became a two-time professional world champion.

Ager came to the ski club in his home town of Hopfgarten at the age of seven and later attended the main ski school in Neustift in the Stubaital . In the junior class he won several Tyrolean championship titles and finally he was accepted into the C-team of the Austrian Ski Association . However , he did not get beyond some good placements in FIS races and so he switched to the professional tour in the USA in 1979 , where he had great success from the beginning, especially in the downhill. Already in his first season (1979/80) he won the overall downhill ranking of the World Pro Tour and was able to repeat this victory in the next winter. In 1982/83 he won the downhill classification for the third time and for the first time he also secured the overall classification of the World Pro Tour and thus the title of professional world champion. He also won the overall ranking of the Japanese Pro Tour. The next winter he was again professional world champion with his second overall victory in the World Pro Tour. He was able to repeat the overall victory in the Japan Tour both in 1984 and 1985. In 1987 Ager ended his career as a professional skier. In Europe he was still at the start in smaller competitions and later he took part in races in the FIS Carving Cup . Ager completed his training as a qualified ski instructor as well as a state-certified cross-country and snowboard instructor and ski guide. He took over the management of the ski school in Hopfgarten and has also been a trainer in Hugo Nindl's Austria Racing Camps since 2003 .
