Georg Dollart (* around 1660 ; † after 1700 ), also called Georg Dollar , was a German wood sculptor .

Life

Dollart lived in Munster. Not much is known about his biography. Only his works, mainly high altars, pulpits, choir stalls and epitaphs have been documented in several churches.

1682 he created the high altar in the cath. Church of St. John the Apostle in Wietmarschen. This altar was donated by the abbess Sybilla von Twickel at the time (officiated from 1682 to 1710). In 1695 he made a two-story altar for the Protestant Church of St. Georg in Fürstenau , in 1697 in Schwagstorf, today a district of Fürstenau, the one-story wooden altar in the St. Bartholomew's Church, and before 1700 the Vespers picture of St. Vitus in Hochelten , around 1699 the standing figures of the apostles Peter and Paul and of St. Vitus as well as the altar structure for St. Vitus in Löningen and a baroque epitaph in the Marienkirche in Osnabrück .

Further works are attributed to Georg Dollart.
