Georg Fleps (* 1922 in Cisnădioara , Kingdom of Romania ) was a storm man of the Waffen-SS loading gunner of Hans Siptrott in the combat group Peiper. The Banat Swabian was accused in the Dachau trials of having been involved in the Malmedy massacre (as part of the Ardennes offensive in December 1944). He was identified by a survivor of the massacre and charged with starting the massacre with two shots. He was only sentenced to death on July 16, 1946 in the Malmedy trial . The sentence was commuted to life imprisonment on March 20, 1948, and to 20 years' imprisonment in August 1951.
