Paul Milata

Paul Milata (* 1977 in Bucharest , Socialist Republic of Romania ) is a German modern historian , author and management consultant .

Life

Milata graduated from the Brukenthal School in Sibiu ( Romanian Sibiu ) and studied Eastern European Contemporary History at McGill University in Montreal , Canada . He wrote his master's thesis in 2001 on the subject of “The Migration of the Highly Qualified from Eastern Europe, 1980-2000”. He received his doctorate as Dr. phil. at the Humboldt University in Berlin . For the publication of his dissertation “Between Hitler, Stalin and Antonescu. Romanian Germans in the Waffen-SS ”he received the Ernst Habermann Prize in 2008 . In the same year he published his study on the brain drain from Eastern Europe: "Brain Drain in Eastern Europe 1980-2000".

Milata has been working as a management consultant for western companies in Eastern Europe since 2004, including from 2008 at Kienbaum Consultants International in the business area Romania and Bulgaria. From 2009 to 2011 he was managing director of the Romanian subsidiary of Aton GmbH , Aton Transilvania SRL in Timișoara . In 2013 he founded Milata KG , which, as a service provider for recruitment and fraud detection, also conducts research in the field of academic corruption in Europe. Milata is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE, German  certified fraud examiner ).
