Georg Glockendon
Georg Glockendon the Elder († 1514 in Nuremberg ) was a German painter, graphic artist and illuminator from the Nuremberg artist family Glockendon .
biography
Georg Glockendon immigrated to Nuremberg in 1484. He worked as an illuminator, letter painter and shape cutter. The painting of Martin Behaim's globe and the drawing of the Romwegkarte by Erhard Etzlaub , the woodcuts of two editions of a “perpetual calendar” from 1493 and the publication of the German edition of the “Perspectiva Artificialis” by Jenan Pélerin in 1509 are well known. Georg Glockendon illustrated an edition of the “ Sea trip ”by Balthasar Sprenger, a traveler to India .
