Georg Gogitsch (born March 14, 1977 in Rüsselsheim ) is an Austrian actor , mimographer and pantomime artist .

Life

Gogitsch is the younger of two sons of a Styrian father and a Hungarian mother from Slovenia. At the age of 18 he trained as a nursing assistant at the psychiatric training facility of the Salzburg State Neurological Clinic . At the age of 20 he did his community service at the Red Cross Feldbach . He then worked for seven years as a paramedic and nurse, partly as security.

He first came into contact with acting in Salzburg, where Werner Friedl encouraged him to take acting lessons. In the course of this he had contact with mime actors such as Ellen Raab, Arturas V. von Panoptikum Sbg. and perfected his pantomime skills with Anke Gerber and Yves Stöcklin (CH) from Berlin. Numerous engagements and appearances followed. In 2000 it was customary in the industry for many mimes in Austria to use “man” at the end of their name, and so he got his stage name Georgeman , with whom he continues to appear as a mime.

In 2002 Gogitsch attended the school for humor at the Rote Nasen Clowndoctors Vienna and in 2003 he moved to Vienna and worked as a clowndoc in the Sophienspital in the animation department. This was also followed by some jobs in commercials and many appearances in entertainment as a thick-and-goofy actor. In 2004 he founded his own mime ensemble, the Georgemans Mimes, and worked as a mimographer . Until today (2011) he has taught at the Vienna VHS and at Urania, Federal Institute for Deaf Education Maygasse Vienna. He also worked as a coach for body language at RTL II (Frauentausch) and WIFI Salzburg.

His greatest trademark is that, with a body weight of 145 kg by 1.90 m in height, he can move fairly light-footed and gracefully. At the age of thirty he attended a private drama school and graduated with "excellent". This was followed by many engagements in the film, such as the Wolf Haas film adaptation of The Bone Man , directed by Wolfgang Murnberger . He was one of the actors in Anna & Du , the interactive ORF series about the band Herbstrock , where he played the caretaker “Mutti”. He also had many engagements in the independent theater scene in Vienna and at the Theater an der Wien.
