Darja Jurlova (born March 3, 1992 in Narva ) is an Estonian biathlete .
Darja Jurlova lives in Otepää and graduated from high school in Narva in 2009. She contested her first international race in 2010 in Obertilliach as part of the IBU Cup and finished 40th in a sprint. So she immediately reached the points in her first race. A little later , she contested her first race in the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof and finished 80th in a sprint. This was followed by four international championships for Jurlova in her first season. First, she took part in the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2011 in Nové Město na Moravě and was there 16th of the individual, 22nd of the sprint, 17th of the pursuit and just missed a medal in fourth place with the relay. At the junior races of the European Biathlon Championships 2011 in Ridnaun , places 26 were added in the individual, 30 in the sprint and six with the Estonian mixed relay. The 2011 biathlon world championships in Khanty-Mansiysk were the first career highlight . Here Jurlova came in 63rd in the sprint, which she missed the pursuit by three places, and with Kadri Lehtla , Kristel Viigipuu and Sirli Hanni in 15th place in the relay race. Later in the year, the Estonian started in the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2011 in Nové Město, where she was 27th in the sprint among the juniors; in the pursuit race she was taken out of the race as a lapped runner. In the 2011/2012 season Jurlova was allowed to start eight times in the World Cup. She improved her best career result with 63rd place at the Biathlon World Championships 2012 in Ruhpolding and narrowly missed reaching the pursuit for the first time. At the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2013 in Kontiolahti , her best result was 17th in the sprint. In the pursuit, she could not improve her position and fell back to 31st place. In the individual, she landed on 44th place. The following season was even more eventful for Jurlova. At the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2013 in Obertilliach she was 10th in the sprint and in the subsequent pursuit she reached 6th place. At the Biathlon World Championships 2013 in Nové Město na Moravě , she could only start twice due to illness. She took 20th place with the mixed relay ( Kadri Lehtla , Darja Jurlova, Roland Lessing , Kauri Kõiv ) and 67th place in the sprint. During the season she was able to improve her best career result twice with a 60th place in the Antholz sprint and a 47th place in the Khanty-Mansiysk sprint . After finishing 60th in Antholz, Jurlova did not start in the pursuit, in the pursuit race in Khanty-Mansiysk she finished 54th. In the sprint race in the third World Cup in Annecy-Le Grand Bornand for the 2013/2014 Biathlon World Cup , Jurlova was 39th and won her first two World Cup points. In the following pursuit she was 51.
