Kristel Viigipuu (born August 19, 1990 in Tartu ) is an Estonian biathlete .

Kristel Viigipuu from SK Elva competed in her first international race as part of the Junior World Championships 2008 in Ruhpolding , where she was 50th in the individual and 68th in the sprint. In 2010 she took part in a Junior World Championship for the second time in Torsby . In Sweden, she finished seventh in the individual and sixth in the sprint, but fell back to 25th in the pursuit. In her native Otepää she also took part in the Junior European Championships in the same year, where she finished ninth in the sprint and eighth in the pursuit, 29th in the individual and eleventh with the Estonian mixed relay.

Viigipuu took part in the first IBU Cup races in 2009 in Idre . The Estonian celebrated her debut in the World Cup at the first World Cup races of the 2009/10 season . In Östersund she ran in sprint to 108th place and was 19 with Kadri Lehtla , Sirli Hanni and Elisabeth Juudas in the relay competition. In Ruhpolding she achieved a first double-digit result with 98th place in 2010, the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , where she was 83rd in the sprint and with Lehtla, Hanni and Eveli Saue 18th in the relay race. After the competitions in Vancouver, Viigipuu started at the 2010 Biathlon European Championships in Otepää . She finished 45th both in the individual competition and in the sprint. With the Estonian season she was fifth. In the 2010/11 season she fought her best place in a World Cup competition so far at the 2011 Biathlon World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, with 55th place in the individual competition. In the sprint competition, she finished 80th. At the start of the 2011/12 season , she won the first World Cup points in her career as 38th in the individual competition in Östersund, Sweden.
