Georg Shepherd

Georg Hirte (born October 3, 1960 in Bamberg ) is a German economist and regional economist . Since 2003 he has been a professor at the “Friedrich List” Faculty of Transport Science at the Technical University of Dresden .

Career

Hirte studied economics and theology at the University of Regensburg from 1981 to 1987 . In 1987 he completed his studies with a degree in economics. From 1990 to 1996 he was a research assistant at the University of Hohenheim and the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . In 1995 he received his doctorate. rer. pole. in Eichstätt , where he worked as a research assistant between 1996 and 2001. In 2001, there followed, the habilitation and work as a senior scientific assistant.

From 2001 to 2002, Hirte held the chair for economics, especially distribution and social policy, at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . From 2002 to 2003 he took on a further deputy chair at the Faculty of Transport Sciences at the Technical University of Dresden. Since 2003 he has held the chair for economics , in particular macroeconomics and spatial economics / regional sciences.
