Georg Huemer (born July 29, 1976 in Linz ) is an Austrian plastic surgeon and senior physician in the field of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery at Med Campus III in Linz. He runs cosmetic surgery clinics in Linz and Wels. At the Medical University of Innsbruck, he qualified as a private lecturer in 2009 as the youngest plastic surgeon in Austria. Among other things, Huemer contributed with over 100 publications and clinical research to the further development of the disciplines of trauma surgery , hand surgery and plastic surgery .

He successfully carried out difficult operations on accident victims that caused a sensation in the media: a man's toe was used as a thumb replacement, an ear was reconstructed from his own tissue in a dog-bite victim, and most of the scalp was restored in a retro-transplant after an accident at work.

He participated in the ATV series emergency room, which accompanied doctors in their everyday life and was a jury member in the Miss Austria election in 2016 and 2017.

Professional background

From 1994 to 2000 Georg Huemer completed his medical studies and from 1996 to 2000 a biology degree at the Leopold-Franzens University Innsbruck. Since 2008 he has been the head of the plastic surgery department at Linz General Hospital. In 2009 he completed his habilitation in "Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery" at the Medical University of Innsbruck. He is the Scientific Director of the Microsurgical Education and Training Center (MAZ) in Linz
