Georg Müller-Christ

Georg Müller-Christ (* 1963 in Cologne ) is a German economist .

Life

After completing school in Emmerich , Müller-Christ was a Fermelde language instructor for Russian in the German Armed Forces from 1982 to 1986 .

From 1986 to 1991 he studied business administration at the University of Bayreuth ( Diplom-Kaufmann ). Afterwards he was a research assistant at the chair for organization and management theory of Andreas Remer . In 1995 he received his doctorate with the dissertation Economy and Nature Conservation - from the technological to the human-oriented problem view . From 1996 to 2000 he was managing director of the interdisciplinary research center for environmental management at the University of Bayreuth. In 2000 the habilitation followed with the thesis Economic Ecology - Theoretical Basics and Practical Implications for Sustainable Resource Management .

In 2001 he became professor of economics at the University of Bremen . Since 2001 he has been a member of the sustainability research center there. From 2009 to 2011 he was Vice President for Studies and Teaching.

In 2009 he became the spokesman for the “Universities and Sustainability” working group of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. From 2010 to 2012 he was chairman of the " Sustainability Management " commission in the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration . He is also a board member of the Virtual Academy Sustainability and the Association for Ecological Economy .

Müller-Christ is married and has four children.
