Georg Narten (building officer)

Georg Narten (born June 30, 1853 in List , † March 30, 1933 in Wroclaw ) was a German electricity construction director and secret construction officer .

Life

The Old Harburg Elbe Bridge was built under the direction of Georg Narten . On September 30, 1899, Narten initiated the opening ceremony of the old Harburg Elbe bridge. After two and a half years of construction, Narten handed the bridge over to the city of Harburg an der Elbe and the municipality of Wilhelmsburg. His son Georg Narten (born August 13, 1892 in Harburg, † April 18, 1963 in Hamburg-Harburg) built the Marie Kroos Foundation for his hometown.

Honors

In 1950 Hamburger Strasse was renamed Nartenstrasse in honor of Narten.
