Georg Pfannenstein

Georg Pfannenstein (born March 4, 1943 in Weiden ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the German Bundestag.

Life

Pfannenstein graduated from the vocational school after elementary school and trained as an electrician. This was followed by the master craftsman examination. He then worked in a mechanical and plant engineering company, where he also became chairman of the works council. He was also district chairman of the Schwandorf workers' welfare organization. In 2007 he founded the social educational day care center of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt.

Pfannenstein had been a member of the SPD since 1972 and had been district chairman in Schwandorf since 1990. In the Upper Palatinate district he was deputy district chairman of the SPD. Pfannenstein was a member of the party council of the SPD and district chairman of the working group for employee issues in the SPD Upper Palatinate. He was also a member of the district council in Schwandorf and since 1994 a member of the German Bundestag, of which he was a member until the end of the fourteenth legislative period in 2002.
