George Roux
George Roux ( 1853 - 1929 ) was a French artist and book illustrator .
His most famous works are a series of illustrations that he created for the science fiction novels by Jules Verne and that appeared in the series of Voyages extraordinaires . After Léon Benett, he was the second most active illustrator of Jules Verne's stories and created the images for 22 of his books, the original editions of which were edited by Pierre-Jules Hetzel (1814–1886) and, after his death, by his son Louis-Jules Hetzel . The first of these was L'Épave du Cynthia (1885) and the last L'Étonnante aventure de la mission Barsac (1919).
