Gerben Löwik (born June 29, 1977 in Vriezenveen ) is a former Dutch cyclist .

Career

Gerben Löwik began his cycling career in 2000 with the Dutch professional team Farm Frites . The following year he drove for a year at Rabobank . Only after he switched to the smaller team BankGiro Loterij did success come. In 2003 he first won a stage of the Deutschland Tour and later the overall ratings of the Ster Elektrotoer and the Circuit Franco-Belge . In 2004 he switched to Chocolade Jacques , where he fell at Paris – Roubaix . Despite this, he could still his season with the overall victory at the Tour de la Région Wallonne and a fifth place at the HEW Cyclassicssave. Löwik has been driving again with the Dutch ProTour team Rabobank since 2005 . In the same year he took part in the Tour de France for the first time , but did not finish it.

After he couldn't find a new team for the 2011 season, he ended his career in the middle of the year.
