Gerd Ferdinand Kirchhoff

Gerd Ferdinand Kirchhoff (born February 15, 1939 in Iserlohn ) is a German lawyer and professor of victimology .

Life

Gerd Ferdinand Kirchhoff doctorate at Anne Eva Brauneck 1974 at the University of Giessen Dr. jur. A year earlier he had taken on a professorship for criminal law, criminology and victimology at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences . Later he was dean of the social affairs department there. Kirchhoff is one of the founding members of the World Society of Victimology e. V. and has been a member of its executive committee since 1985. He was also active as President (2000–2003), Secretary General (1988–2000 and 2009–2012) and Treasurer (since 2012). After his retirement in Germany, he taught as Professor of Victimology at Tokiwa University, Mito , Japan from 2003 to 2016 . Since 2016 he has been teaching as a professor at OP Jindal Global University, Jagdishpur, India.

In addition, he is u. a. Co-founder and co-director of the postgraduate course Victimology, Victim Assistance and Criminal Justice at the Inter University Center in Dubrovnik and honorary member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Criminologia Capitulo Nuevo Leon AC and the Victimoloskij Drustvo Serbije . As an international expert in victimology, Kirchhoff has given lectures in over 25 countries around the world and published a significant part of his publications in English.

He is one of the signatories of the Mainz Declaration on Juvenile Criminal Law initiated by Michael Bock . Instead of tightening up existing laws, this calls for the improvement of training and cooperation between institutions and people who deal with juvenile offenders.
