Gerhard Damköhler

Gerhard Damköhler (* 1908 ; † 1944 ) was a German chemist .

Damköhler founded chemical reaction engineering at the Institute for Physical Chemistry in Göttingen between 1936 and 1944 .

The Damköhler numbers are named after him, dimensionless key figures that play a role in reaction technology.

In addition, the German Association for Chemical and Process Engineering (DVCV) awards a Gerhard Damköhler Medal .
