Gerhard Drees (pedagogue)

Gerhard Drees (born August 26, 1956 in Neheim-Hüsten ) is a professor of educational science with a focus on vocational training and adult education at the Ludwigsburg University of Education .

Drees studied educational science with a focus on adult education as well as sociology , psychology and philosophy at the University of Dortmund . From 1985 to 1996 he was a research assistant at the professorship for vocational education there, where he completed his doctorate in 1991. In 2004 , Gerhard Drees completed his habilitation at the Faculty of Education at Bielefeld University .

The following year he was appointed professor of educational science at the Ludwigsburg University of Education. From December 2008 to December 2012 he was Dean of the Faculty of Education there. He is the head of the coordination office for scientific continuing education, an elected member of the Senate of the Pedagogical University of Ludwigsburg and the council of the Faculty of Education.

Drees' main areas of work are educational theory , educational policy, learning theory, didactics and methodology in vocational training and adult education, as well as quality development and evaluation
