Gerhard Hacker

Gerhard Hacker (* 1963 in Karlsruhe ) is a German library scientist, Slavist and Hispanist.

Life

After graduating from high school in Landau in the Palatinate , Hacker studied Slavic , Hispanic and library studies at the University of Cologne , where he also received his doctorate. After positions as a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences for Library and Documentation in Cologne and as a research assistant at the Humboldt University in Berlin , he has been teaching as a professor of library and information science at the University of Technology, Economics and Culture in Leipzig since 2001 . From 2011 to 2014 he was Vice-Rector for Education.

Hacker is an author of library studies and has translated numerous works, especially art studies, from Russian.
