from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gerhard I. Kämmerer von Worms (Geradus), also: Gerhard von Ehrenberg (* around 1200 ; † January 21, 1248 ), was the first of the family to hereditary hold this office, an office after which the family was named and whose name became a family name.

Origin and family

His parents were Gerardus the Elder (mentioned between 1208 and 1229), Vice Cathedral of the Hochstift Worms and Mechtild, who died on March 5th of an unknown year.

Gerhard I married the widowed Beatrix von Randeck , daughter of Albert or Albrecht from Ingelheim . From this marriage emerged:

  • Ulrich, * around 1230, died after 1261 ⚭ Guda
  • Heinrich, mentioned since 1251 died on November 17 or 21, 1301. He was married twice, first to Rosina von Waldeck († 1250), then to Hedwig von Friesenheim , who died on August 5, 1308.
  • Gerhard II., * Around 1229, † January 8, 1297 ⚭ before 1263 Mechtild Fuchs von Rüdesheim, † June 4, 1319, daughter of Giselbert, Vizedom im Rheingau and Jutta.
  • Embricho (Emericho I.), * 1227, † 1295 ⚭ NN from Dahn or von Than

Act

In 1229, Gerhard I was appointed Vice- Cathedral of the Diocese of Worms in succession to his father under Bishop Heinrich II of Saarbrücken . In 1238, under his successor, Landolf von Hoheneck , he was also treasurer of the bishopric, an office that had previously been administered by his uncle Richezo. On December 3, 1239, the bishop also hereditarily granted him the office. This established a tradition from which the family name emerged.
