John Bridges competed in many sports car races on a Chevron B19

John Bridges (born January 5, 1936 in Fylde , † January 23, 1998 in Preston ) was a British racing car driver .

Racing career

John Bridges was active as a sports car driver in the 1960s and 1970s . He contested races in the British GT Championship and the World Sports Car Championship . In 1968 he won three races of the British Championship at Oulton Park in a matter of days . In the sports car world championship he achieved two third places overall. In 1972 he and John Hine finished third in the 1000 km race at Spa-Francorchamps . He reached the same position in 1973 with John Burton in the 1000 km race at the Nürburgring . The results were brought in with 2-liter racing cars from Chevron . In addition to these successes, he came second in the 400 km race in Barcelona in 1972 and third in the 1000 km race in Paris that year .
