Gerhard Jellasitz

Gerhard Jellasitz (born June 28, 1949 in Schützen am Gebirge ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From 1982 to 1993 and from 2000 to 2004 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag and from 1996 to 2000 he was Deputy Governor in the Burgenland Provincial Government .

education and profession

Jellasitz was born as the son of the barrel binder journeyman Michael Jellasitz and his wife Katharina and graduated from secondary school in Eisenstadt after primary school in Schützen . After his father died in 1959 and his mother died in 1961, he subsequently ran his parents' farm together with his grandmother. He attended the agricultural college in Eisenstadt from 1967 to 1968 and worked as a part-time farmer between 1967 and 1972. He also worked as a shift worker for the Semperit factory and for the Iso-Sport company. He then worked from 1972 to 1980 as district party secretary of the ÖVP- Eisenstadt-Umgebung and also worked from 1975 to 1977 in the management of the Burgenland Farmers' Union . After Jellasitz had worked as an insurance clerk between 1978 and 1982, he passed the external Matura in 1982 . In 1988 he was awarded the title of engineer . Jellasitz was the managing director of Umwelt-Technologie und Recycling Ges.mbH from 1989 to 1993

politics

Jellasitz acted from 1980 to 1986 as state party secretary of the ÖVP Burgenland and was from 1986 to 1990 director of the farmers' union of the ÖVP. From November 9, 1991 to April 20, 2001 he held the office of ÖVP state party leader. Jellasitz represented the ÖVP between October 29, 1982 and April 22, 1993 in the Burgenland State Parliament and was then Deputy Governor in the Burgenland State Government from April 22, 1993 to December 28, 2000. After leaving the state government, Jellasitz was again a member of the state parliament from December 28, 2000 to May 26, 2004.
