Gerhard Oncken

Gerhard Oncken (born December 26, 1836 in Wittmund , † December 17, 1898 in Wittmund) was a German landowner and parliamentarian.

Life

Gerhard Oncken was a son of the economist Sievert Anton Oncken and his wife Anna Maria Henriette, geb. Brants. He studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . In 1857 he became a member of the Corps Rhenania Heidelberg . In 1859 he joined the Corps Friso-Luneburgia Göttingen . After graduating, he became a court auditor . Later he lived as a landowner and auditor a. D. Wittmund , where he 1868-1876 also stain prostate was.

From 1879 to 1882 Oncken sat as a member of the constituency of Hanover 1 (Aurich) in the Prussian House of Representatives . He belonged to the faction of the National Liberal Party .
