Gerhard von Lienen

Gerhard von Lienen (born April 21, 1947 in Weißenburg in Bavaria ) is a German lawyer . He was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

After completing his legal training, he entered the higher judicial service of the Free State of Bavaria in 1975 . He was appointed public prosecutor in 1978 and judge at the regional court in Regensburg in 1980. In 1992 he was promoted to judge at the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court . From 1989 he headed full-time working groups for legal trainees at the regional court in Regensburg and from 1992 to 1995 by way of secondment at the regional court / regional court in Leipzig . After his return he worked in a senate for family matters at the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court .

In 1999 von Lienen was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice. Since then, he has been assigned to the 3rd Criminal Senate, which is responsible for state security criminal matters . In 2003 and 2004 he was also a member of the IXa civil senate (auxiliary senate). Von Lienen played a key role in shaping the case law of both senates. In addition to his work as a judge, he was temporarily the representative of the press officer and since 2007 has been entrusted with the office of security and sabotage protection officer.
