A GSG 1911 in the small caliber .22

The German Sport Guns GmbH (short: GSG ) is a German manufacturer and distributor of firearms and air weapons as air guns , air guns and airsoft guns , as well as outdoor objects. The company has been a subsidiary of L&O Holding since 2014 , which also includes the firearms manufacturer SIG Sauer . At the company's headquarters in Ense , North Rhine-Westphalia , mainly higher-priced models are built, while lower-priced products are mostly imported and resold. Development services are usually provided in-house or obtained from the group of companies.

The Rastatt sporting arms manufacturer Diana , whose products have already won an Olympic gold medal, was taken over by GSG in 2014, the company's former headquarters were closed and production was partially relocated to Ense.

In a legal dispute with Heckler & Koch that lasted for years , GSG and H&K have been suing each other for damages amounting to millions since 2011. The dispute concerned the alleged violation of Heckler & Koch's design rights to the HK MP5 submachine gun by GSG. GSG used the design of the MP5 for the construction of small-caliber replicas that were sold in the USA, for example. GSG denied any violation of existing property rights.
