Germania (yearbook)

Germania was the title of the yearbook of the Berlin Society for German Language and Archeology . The editor was the Germanist Friedrich Heinrich von der Hagen . The yearbook was published by Schultze-Verlag, Leipzig.

In 1814 the Berlin Society for the German Language (BGfdS) was founded. A yearbook of the society was first published in 1820 in the Maurer bookstore in Berlin. The title was the yearbook of the Berlin Society for the German Language. First volume . No other yearbook was published until 1836.

In 1825 Friedrich Heinrich von der Hagen took over the management of the society, which subsequently dealt more and more with questions of antiquity and in 1836 it was renamed the Berlin Society for German Language and Archeology . The yearbooks with the title Germania appeared in the period 1836 (volume 1) to 1853 (volume 10).
