Gernot Schiefer (* 1964 in Düsseldorf ) is a German psychologist and professor of business psychology and head of the competence center for qualitative research at the FOM University of Economics & Management in the Mannheim study center. He is also a psychoanalyst and works as a management consultant.

Career

After studying psychology at the University of Cologne in 1991, he obtained his license to practice medicine as a psychological psychotherapist for adults in 1999. In 2003 he completed his training as a psychoanalyst at the Saarland Institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Saarbrücken. In 2006, Schiefer received his doctorate from the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich under the direction of Lutz von Rosenstiel and completed this at the Technical University of Munich with the dissertation " Motives of blood donation - a depth psychological investigation with design options for the marketing of nonprofit organizations involved in the blood donation " Dr.oec. from. Schiefer has been Professor of Business Psychology with a focus on human resources and management at the FOM University of Economics & Management since 2012.

From 1995 to 2014, Schiefer, together with a partner, was the managing partner of an international marketing consultancy and market research company, which mainly carried out market and advertising psychological studies.

Research priorities

As head of the Competence Center for Qualitative Research, Gernot Schiefer pursues a hermeneutic , qualitative-methodical research approach. He examines u. a. postheroic leadership concepts and integrates psychoanalytic perspectives and methods.
