Gerrit Meister (born February 7, 1986 ) is a former German - American American football player.

career

Meister played in the offspring of the Bremerhaven Seahawks , in the seasons 2007 and 2008 the offensive lineman reinforced the Hamburg Blue Devils in the highest German league, the GFL . In the 2009 season he wore the colors of his Bremerhaven home team, with which he competed in the league. He then played for the Dutch second division team Groningen Giants , for the 2011 season the trained behavioral therapist returned to the GFL and was henceforth in the service of the Braunschweig Lions . He played for Braunschweig until the end of the 2017 season. For health reasons, the champions withdrew from competitive sports in 2018 and took over the coaching position for the second men's team of the Braunschweig Lions (regional league) in the 2018 season. In 2018 he switched to the Hildesheim Invaders in the GFL as an assistant coach . In Hildesheim he was responsible for looking after the offensive line, and at the beginning of September 2019 he was appointed head coach until the end of the season after the club had separated from the previous coaching team.
