Gertrud Ingestad (* 1958 in Sweden ) is a Swedish EU official. Since 2016 she has been Director General of the Directorate General for Information Technology (DG DIGIT) of the European Union .

Life

Gertrud Ingestad studied languages ​​and history and worked as a language teacher in Stockholm before joining the European Commission in 1995 . Here she worked in the area of ​​personnel administration. In January 2014, she became Director of Information Systems and Interoperability Solutions, now Digital Business Solutions, in DG DIGIT. From April 16, 2016 to March 15, 2020, she was Director General of the Directorate General for Information Technology (DIGIT), and since March 16, 2020 she has been Director General of the Directorate General for Human Resources and Security .
