Directorate-General for Informatics

The Directorate-General for Informatics (DIGIT) is a Directorate-General of the European Commission . She is assigned to the Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič and the Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Marija Gabriel . Mario Campolargo is acting head of the Directorate General .

The Directorate-General is responsible within the Commission for the provision of digital services that other Commission services and EU institutions use in their work. The Directorate-General was created as a successor to the Directorate-General for Data Processing .

Directorates

The Directorate General is based in Brussels and Luxembourg and is divided into five directorates:

  • Directorate A: Strategy and Resources
  • Directorate B: Digital Business Models
  • Directorate C: Digital workplaces and infrastructure
  • Directorate D: Digital Services
  • Directorate E: IT security
