Directorate-General for Energy

The Directorate-General for Energy (ENER) is a Directorate-General of the European Commission . She is assigned to the Commissioner for Energy , currently (2019) Kadri Simson . Dominique Ristori is the head of the general management .

The General Directorate was created on February 17, 2010 by splitting the General Directorate Energy and Transport into the General Directorates Energy and Mobility and Transport .

Directorates

The General Management is divided into the following six directorates:

  • Directorate A: Energy Policy
  • Directorate B: Internal Energy Market
  • Directorate C: Renewable Energies, Research and Innovation, Energy Efficiency
  • Directorate D: Nuclear Safety and Fuel Cycle
  • Directorate E: Nuclear Material Surveillance
  • SRD Directorate: Administrative Services (Joint Directorate with the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport)

While Directorates A to C and SRD are located in Brussels, Directorates D and E are located in Luxembourg, where they are supervised by the Deputy Director General for Coordination of Directorates D and E , currently (2014) Gerassimos Thomas .
