Commissioner for Energy

The Energy Commissioner is a member of the European Commission . The department has existed since the merger of the commissions of the European Economic Community with those of Euratom and the ECSC in 1967; previously, the last two communities responsible for energy policy areas had been independent.

The current incumbent is Kadri Simson . The Energy Commissioner is assigned to the Energy Commissioner .
