Santer Commission

As Santer Commission is European Commission under Commission President Jacques Santer called that from 1995 to 1999 at the office. She succeeded the Delors III commission . Towards the end of their tenure, the Santer Commission was of a corruption scandal around Edith Cresson shaken. After the European Parliament had threatened with a motion of no confidence , the Commission resigned on March 15, 1999. In the subsequently formed Marín Transitional Commission , however, the members and division of responsibilities remained identical, only Commission President Santer and the previous Vice President Manuel Marín swapped positions. Only for the Prodi Commission , which took office at the end of 1999, were new commissioners appointed.
