Commissioner for Financial Planning and Budget

The Commissioner for Financial Programming and Budget is a member of the European Commission . It prepares the draft for the annual budget of the European Union and is responsible for budget implementation . The department has existed since the European Economic Community was founded in 1958. However, it was partly divided into two departments (finance and budget).

When the Commission von der Leyen took office in December 2019 , the current incumbent is Johannes Hahn , who is also Commissioner for Administration there .
