Albert Coppé
Albert Coppé (born November 26, 1911 in Bruges , † March 30, 1999 in Tervuren ) was a Belgian politician. He was Vice President of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC).
Life
From 1946 to 1952 he was Minister for Public Works, Economy and Reconstruction of Belgium. Then he became Vice-President of the High Authority of the ECSC in 1952 and became President for a few months in 1967.
Due to the merger agreement of the organizations of the three European communities, he moved to the new European Commission and was budget commissioner from 1967 to 1970 , then until 1973 social and transport commissioner .
