Carlo Scarascia-Mugnozza

Carlo Scarascia-Mugnozza (born April 19, 1920 in Rome ; † May 13, 2004 ibid) was an Italian politician and Vice President of the European Commission .

In 1945 he became a member of the Christian Democratic Party (DC) . Since 1953 he was elected to the House of Representatives for four legislative terms. From 1961 to 1972 he was a member of the European Parliament .

1972 Scarascia-Mugnozza Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Agriculture in the Mansholt Commission . In 1973 he was again Vice and Commissioner for Parliamentary Affairs , Environment and Transport . From 1982 to 1990 he was chairman of the International Center for Agricultural Studies in the Mediterranean Basin in Paris .
