Gertrude Haider-Grünwald
Gertrude Haider-Grünwald (born before 1972) is an Austrian journalist, author, art critic and exhibition curator.
Life
Gertrude Haider graduated from a commercial academy in Linz. She started her career at the Upper Austrian Tagblatt . This was followed by work as an English and Russian correspondent and translator. After her marriage, she worked as a freelancer for the Oberösterreichische Tagblatt with film reviews and from 1972 mainly with cultural reviews of the fine arts (more than 3000 in twenty years).
From 1985 to the end of 2008 Gertrude Haider-Grünwald was in charge of the newly created gallery in the city of Traun in Upper Austria. Here she designed and opened around 250 art exhibitions by Austrian and foreign artists, some with extensive introductions to the works and prefaces for catalogs. She was also involved in around 150 presentations and exhibition openings in other cities.
Gertrude Haider-Grünwald has been President of the Dr. Ernst Koref Foundation since 1985 and has headed the Linz Club Gallery of the Dr. Ernst Koref Foundation (initially the Gallery Club of Encounters from the Association for the Promotion of Contemporary Art) in Upper Austria since 2009 Ursulinenhof cultural quarter in Linz. She is a board member of the Austrian-German Cultural Society Section Upper Austria.
