The 1952 West German Masters, the Munich Chess Club , and the GDR Masters Unit Leipzig-East competed in the 1953 All-German Team Championship .
The MSC 1836 won the all-German team championship for the second time after the end of the war with a 6-2 victory against the GDR champions Einheit Leipzig-Ost .
The Munich team arrived at Leipzig Central Station on the morning of November 6, 1953. She was accompanied by Friedrich A. Stock , Vice President of the German Chess Federation. After a warm welcome from Vice-President Grätz of the chess section, we went to the Park Hotel across the street to catch up on some sleep. The first day with lunch in the Auerbachs Keller and a stroll through the city let the travel fatigue evaporate. The competition began on Saturday, November 7th at 3 p.m. in the ballroom of the Old Town Hall .
