All Greek Evangelical Association

The All- Greek Evangelical Association ( Greek Πανελλήνιος Ευαγγελικός Σύνδεσμος, Π.Ε.Σ. , Panellinios Evangelikos Syndesmos; also: Greek Evangelical Alliance ) is an association of the Protestant churches of Greece . The aim of the association is to strengthen relationships and to promote the spirit of unity and cooperation between the churches, as well as to coordinate common appearance to the outside world. The association is a member of the World Evangelical Alliance and the European Evangelical Alliance . The chairman of the association is currently a pastor of the Pentecostal Church "Church of God of Promise" (Εκκλησία του Θεού της Προφητείας), Antonios Charalampous (Αντώνιος Χαραλάμπους). The association is currently based in Piraeus .

Principles

The association represents a conservative-Protestant position in ideological and ethical terms and a socially critical position in economic terms and often deals with the Orthodox Church in Greece . Therefore, certain principles are particularly emphasized:

  • The Bible as the inspired word of God and only derived from it life and faith.
  • One trinitarian God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • Incarnation in Jesus Christ: “God revealed in the flesh”. Jesus who was crucified and rose from the dead.
  • Salvation of the sinner through faith in Christ's finished work of salvation.
  • New birth of man and sanctification of believers by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • The personal Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead and final judgment, in which believers inherit eternal life and sinners who reject the gift of God in the face of Christ suffer eternal damnation.

Members

The association brings together all the Protestant denominations in Greece. It includes 23 congregations of the Greek Evangelical Church , 6 Free Evangelical Churches (Ελεύθερες Ευαγγελικές Εκκλησίες), 59 Pentecostal congregations (Πεντηκοστιανοί), and 15 other congregations that have not joined any denomination.
