The Evergetoulas ( Greek Ευεργέτουλας , ( m. Sg. )) Is one of the larger rivers, or Cheimarros of Lesbos . Its sources are on the northern slopes of Mount Olympus . It drains into the Bay of Geras (Κόλπος Γέρας, Κόλπο της Γέρας) and lends its name to the community of Dimos Evergetoulas . This covers almost the entire river basin from the source to the mouth. Because of its scenic beauty, the area of Agii is Anargyrifamous, a green oasis along the river bed. Other important natural monuments and biotopes can be found along the course of the river, such as the area Karyni (Καρύνη), with its large plane and nut trees and the famous plane tree of Theofilos (Πλάτανος του Θεοφίλου), in whose hollow trunk the folk painter Theofilailos Chatzimich for some time (Θεόφιλος Χατζημιχαήλ) lived, and the Ekklesia Agios Efstratios (Εκκλησία Άγιος Ευστράτιος). A little further north, the area Mylelia (Mlelia; Μυλέλια, Μλέλια) was named after an old water mill. After a few kilometers, the river flows into the Bay of Geras at Dipi (Ντίπι), where it creates an important wetland area that is worth protecting.
